"Research Enhancement Award

Funds are available to support activities that enhance graduate and graduate professional students’ research projects. These funds are provided by the Office of Research & Innovation and administered by the Graduate School. Funds are available to support research activities including workshop participation (both in-person or virtual), data collection, short courses, extramural laboratory rotations, or the cost of disseminating the results of research and creative activities. Under special circumstances, funding requests to purchase supplies/materials relevant to the student’s research will be considered."

Faculty for the Future grants are based on actual costs for eligible expenses up to a maximum of USD 50,000 per year for a PhD and maximum of USD 40,000 per year for a Post-doc and may be renewed through to completion of studies. Renewal grants are subject to performance, recommendations from supervisors and strong evidence of re-integration plans in the home country.

NSF MPS-ASCEND Postdoctoral Fellows Program

(NSF 21-573) This new program is designed to support postdoctoral fellows who will broaden participation by groups that are underrepresented in Math and Physical Sciences disciplines, with a particular emphasis on a fellowship that will provide experience in research and that will broaden perspectives and facilitate interdisciplinary interactions. The program is designed to support fellows in postdoctoral research to have maximal impact on their future scientific development and will also help facilitate fellows’ transitions into faculty appointments. Fellowships will be awarded directly to the individual fellows, who must identify a sponsoring scientist and host institution in their application materials. The MPS Directorate will host a webinar on this exciting new opportunity in mid-April. Please stay tuned for webinar details in the near future.
