Sarah Chen (陳淑樺) is a multilingual Taiwanese singer whose recording career spanned 1967 to 1998. One of Mandopop’s greatest ballad singers, she won Taiwan’s Best Female Singer award three times. This discography documents the more than 420 songs of hers that can be traced today, in five phases: childhood work, Haishan Records, EMI, English songs, and Rock Records. Only her work with Haishan and Rock Records is officially preserved. Nearly half of her songs, including most of her EMI work, early work, and English songs, survive as scattered fan uploads; tracking them down took more than two years. This list is a record of what survives; left out are early recordings and live television performances mentioned in reports but not yet found. Teresa Teng (鄧麗君) was a Taiwanese singer whose career spanned 1967 to 1995 and whose influence reached across Taiwan, Japan, and the Chinese-speaking world. This discography documents about 1,060 songs she recorded in six languages, in five phases: teenage work with Universe Records, early adult work, mid-career Mandarin songs, mid-career foreign-language work, and late-career work. Teng’s work is well preserved; the difficulty lies in its abundance. Compilation albums, multiple labels issuing the same songs, and repeated re-recordings make versions hard to tell apart, and the figure of about 1,700 songs cited on Wikipedia may have counted some recordings more than once. This list separates the distinct recordings, matches each to the right version, and excludes most live performances; a few tracks remain missing or unconfirmed.
