MemeMates Community Safety Standards

Our Commitment to Safety
At MemeMates, our mission is to connect people through the positive power of humor. The safety and well-being of our users are the foundation of our community. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harmful content or predatory behavior. This document outlines our safety standards, with a particular focus on our strict prohibition of any content or activity involving Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).
1. Age Requirement: 18+ Only
MemeMates is strictly for users aged 18 and older. We use age-gating mechanisms during our registration process to prevent underage users from signing up. Any account found to be operated by an individual under the age of 18 will be immediately terminated.
2. Zero-Tolerance Policy on Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation
We have a strict, zero-tolerance policy against any and all forms of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation. The following are explicitly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and a report to the appropriate authorities:
Uploading or Sharing CSAM: Any creation, sharing, or distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) is strictly forbidden.
Grooming: Any attempt to solicit, groom, or engage in inappropriate communication with minors.
Child Endangerment: Any content or behavior that depicts, encourages, or threatens harm to a minor.
We are committed to reporting all instances of CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperating fully with law enforcement agencies worldwide.
3. Prohibited Content and Behavior
To maintain a safe and positive environment, we prohibit the following types of content and behavior:
Harassment and Bullying: Abusive language, threats, hate speech, or any form of targeted harassment against other users.
Nudity and Sexually Explicit Content: Pornography, graphic nudity, or sexually suggestive content is not allowed.
Hate Speech: Content that promotes discrimination, violence, or hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else in a deceptive manner.
Spam and Scams: Posting repetitive content, sending unsolicited commercial messages, or engaging in fraudulent activity.
Illegal Activities: Promoting or engaging in any illegal acts.
4. Moderation and Enforcement
We use a combination of automated tools and human review to enforce our safety standards.
In-App Reporting: Every user has access to a simple, in-app tool to report any user or piece of content that violates our policies. You can find a "Report" button on user profiles and on every meme. We review these reports promptly.
Content Moderation: We use automated systems to scan for harmful content, particularly CSAM, and have a team of human moderators to review flagged content and user reports.
Consequences: Violations of these terms will result in immediate action, ranging from a warning to a permanent ban from the Service. Any activity related to CSAE will result in an immediate permanent ban and a report to law enforcement.
