Response to Intervention (RTI)

An educational strategy designed to identify and support students who are struggling academically or behaviorally through a tiered system of interventions. 

1. Multi-Tiered System: RTI operates on a tiered framework, typically consisting of three levels of intervention:

• Tier 1: Universal instruction provided to all students in the general education classroom. This includes high-quality teaching and regular monitoring of student progress.

• Tier 2: Targeted interventions for students who are not making adequate progress in Tier 1. This may involve small group instruction or additional support in specific skill areas.

• Tier 3: Intensive, individualized interventions for students who continue to struggle despite Tier 1 and Tier 2 support. This level often involves specialized instruction tailored to the student's specific needs.
