Welcome! I'm Melissa Wehrman, a GTL student at St. Scholastica.
I am pursing an Elementary K-6 Licensure, and I currently work as a Paraprofessional for Esko Public Schools. I have spent the past 3 years working with students that receive paraprofessional support and I hope to use this experience to promote inclusion, acceptance and implement Universal Design for Learning in my own classroom.
I have created this Resource Guide to help organize and create information related to Special Education in an accessible way. There are pages that can be accessed above that provide a deeper understanding of the special education referral process, working with students with disabilities, those that are gifted and talented and English language learners along with Rtl, PBIS, IDEA, 504, ADA, ESSA and other legislation that supports the success of all learners.
Thank you for stopping by. I'm happy you're here!
Inclusion Is Important For All Students
Including students with disabilities as valued members of the school community fosters a sense of belonging and acceptance. This creates active participation and opportunities to succeed.
