Experience
In 2017, I started working at American Eagle Outfitters, an apparel company, in my hometown of Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania. I worked as a Sales Associate/Brand Ambassador for the company up until January of my junior year. Throughout my time with the company, I have gained thorough insight and knowledge on the fashion industry, specifically the retail sector. Majority of the shifts, I was stationed at the registers and completed transactions with customers who were making purchases. Other days, I helped out in the fitting rooms, on the sales floor, and even in the stock room. It is critical in all of these tasks that I maintained a comprehensive knowledge of the store's layout, the merchandise available, current trends, and inventory in the back in order to assist customers. Manuevering displays to create an easier shopping experience for customers and enhancing appearance by creatively, dressing and styling the mannequins throughout the store allowed me to get a glimpse into the world of visual merchandising. Additionally, working with a team of over 20 co-workers and upper management has taught me the importance of collaboration and accountability. Also, I strengthed effective relationships to drive team success towards common sales, service, and operational goals. The store can only succeed as much as the employees do, so reaching goals, working hard, and motivating one another helps meet projected sales for the month.
