Career Goal Narrative
I would like to be an aerospace engineer, specifically one who designs airplanes and sells the blueprints to big companies like Lockheed Martin and Boeing. If my designs are successful maybe I will start my own company and build airplanes of my own. The reason why this career piqued my interest was because me and the rest of my family used to see who could make the coolest vehicles out of Legos, and I always built airplanes. I started my first airplane design when I was 11; I called it the BA-15 scorpion. Even now I still am working on this design as I learn new things about the laws of physics and that an airplane that has a tail that can move like a scorpion's would not be able to fly.
Not only do I want to be an engineer, but a physicist, mathematician, chemist, psychologist, and medical doctor. I have big dreams and a lot of progress to make. but my favorite thing to say to people when they tell me I need to set more realistic goals is that if curiosity killed the cat, and they killed Caesar for his ambition, I want to find out which kills me first.
I was in math classes two grades ahead than most of my peers as well as accelerated science classes. I also attended the engineering program at the DR. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center. As well as the CNC machining program at ATDM
I was the first chair tuba player in the Great Mills High School marching band, symphonic band, and wind ensemble, as well as head of set construction in Lighthouse Productions at Great Mills High School. These extracurricular activities have taught me to push through the hard times and how to grow off of them, as well as important leadership and teamwork skills.
When I graduate my goal is to be accepted into MIT as it is the best school for the career I wish to pursue and I can use my acceptance into MIT to impress all of my family and friends. However if I do not get accepted into MIT I can go to a community college for my undergraduate degree and reapply to MIT for my masters and hopefully doctorate.
If my goals get achieved then I hope to change the world for the better by inventing revolutionary ways to power homes and by keeping the peace with brand new, state-of-the-art vehicles and weaponry for the United States military.
