The Flourishing Ally Project is a dynamic new approach that integrates the psychology of allyship and the science of well-being. It involves the development of innovative programs that draw from cultural strengths to build allyship relationships, improve well-being, and create inclusive spaces in high-pressure environments.
Greece has been in a position of cultural authority as a bearer, custodian, and teacher of history, philosophy, art, and democracy in the modern Western world. Learning from Greek philosophy and culture, with concepts like "philoxenia" (φιλοξενία; warmth towards everyone, including strangers) and "philotimo" (φιλότιμο; going above and beyond to give selfless care), gives us deep roots to connect with examples from the past where people naturally leaned towards allyship (empowering support), harmony, and warmth, even in the face of suffering and adversity.
Tapping into this rich cultural history enables us to bring forth and nurture through immersive experiences the potential for allyship, harmony, and warmth that resides within us. Art can help us pause from the daily flow of constant activity, focus our scattered attention, and reconnect us with the best parts of who we are and who we want to be. And Greece is the perfect birthplace for this work, where art has captured imaginations and inspired generations of people around the world.
Hospitality is one of the largest and fastest-growing industries in Greece. Supported by the Fulbright Foundation Greece, Dr. Warren, in collaboration with the Human Flourishing Movement, Athens, is developing a strengths-based allyship framework anchored in Greek hospitality. Through dialogue and collaboration with C-suite executives and senior leaders, it involves two projects for Greece’s high-pressure tourism, hospitality, and cultural organizations:
Showcasing strengths and best practices for building a culture of allyship that reduces stress, improves well-being, and increases resourcefulness and collective problem-solving.
Exploring opportunities for art-powered allyship programs and installations to inspire allyship and increase well-being.

Dr. Warren was an invited speaker at the opening plenary panel of the Play Identity Conference at the Athens Conservatoire (Ωδείον Αθηνών). She highlighted that in today's times of technology overuse, scattered attention, and overwhelming levels of stress, creating intentional spaces for joy and play is essential to restore our emotional and psychological reserves. This can empower us to creatively and sustainably come together as allies to tackle some of the most daunting challenges before us.

Building on her team's research on the role of personality and character in allyship, published in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, and her interview featured in Forbes, Dr. Warren offered a new workshop at the Play Identity Conference.
In partnership with Christos Papamichael, founder-director of liminal (art-based NGO advancing inclusion and accessibility) and the Klikable Project, Dr. Warren integrated blindfolded photography to offer an immersive experience of giving and receiving allyship on the beautiful grounds of the Byzantine and Christian Museum (Βυζαντινό και Χριστιανικό Μουσείο), and next to the archaeological site of Aristotle's school (symbolically apt for a workshop on how to tap into our virtues to be allies).
The workshop was well-received by a diverse audience, from public officials, educators, museum directors, and lawyers, to professionals in private equity, finance, and hospitality (testimonials below).

"Dr. Warren was an invited speaker at the opening panel of the Play Identity Conference, among 6 professionals of the corporate world. She focused on practical ways that play is implemented in everyday individual professional life and organizational life. She had a very wise manner to explain difficult and complicated concepts in a simple way for all kinds of audiences. I personally appreciate her enthusiasm and will remember her real stories and examples. I was honestly touched by her authenticity, sharing with us her passion of believing that personal change depends on personal willingness! I am really privileged to have the chance to share a stage with her."

"I really enjoyed the workshop, “Upstanders: Photography & the Art of Allyship”; it was both engaging and thought-provoking. It offered an insightful perspective on addressing challenges such as bullying through the development of a positive and inclusive environment. I found the combination of presentation, discussion, and the use of art—particularly blindfolded photography—especially impactful. Dr. Warren's facilitation was inspiring, presenting the theme in a way that invited reflection and extended the discussion well beyond the workshop itself."

"It was a truly amazing experience that I shared with my daughter. [During the blindfolded photography], I focused on small details, like a bee on the bushes. Letting my 11-year-old daughter take the lead in guiding me, trusting her completely. These are things I don't usually do. I hope more events like this take place, for children and also for older people!"
-Maria L., Managing Director, [Chemical Company]
"The workshop offered a very meaningful exploration of allyship and its role in how we connect, support, and relate to others. The experiential activity, which required us to trust the person guiding us, was particularly impactful, as it highlighted the importance of vulnerability and presence. I left with practical and emotional insights that deepened my understanding of what it truly means to be an upstander."
