Reach out with any questions you have, and for my current availability.
If you would like to discuss any issues, concerns, and goals that you are hoping to address in therapy, I offer a complimentary phone consultation. This consultation will also allow you to ask any questions you may have and gain an understanding of how I work with clients, as well as discuss a plan for your therapy.
Sessions are 50 minutes long.
As a student counsellor, my sessions are either FREE or low cost*
Since I am not yet a fully licensed counsellor, my services aren't covered by insurance. However, my sessions are free for people who attend McIvor Mennonite Brethren Church. For those who do not attend McIvor, the fee is only $20 per session, which goes directly toward covering my supervision fees. If cost is in any way a barrier for you, please speak to me about it. For all clients, there is a $20 fee for sessions missed with less than 1 full business-day notice.
Sessions are either in-person or online.
My goal is for therapy to feel as comfortable and convenient as possible for the client, so certain days and times are blocked for in-person and certain days and times are blocked for virtual therapy. There are advantages and disadvantages to both, so each individual client can decide which type of session they would prefer.
Regular sessions tailored to your progress.
Regular therapy sessions are important to make progress in therapy. Most of my clients find weekly sessions to be most effective in the early stages of therapy. Sessions often become less frequent as progress towards goals is achieved.
Your journey, your timeline.
The length of time in therapy is highly variable and depends on each person’s needs and goals. The first few sessions are important in helping to develop trust, rapport and comfort in therapy. With continuity and momentum, most clients begin to see progress after a few sessions, and gain more benefits over time.
