I was so fascinated by giant freshwater fish that I ended up diving into academic world.
What started as a frustration over the lack of large freshwater fish in Japan (?) turned into a curiosity about why tropical rivers and lakes can support multiple species of large fish.
Focusing on diet, nutrient cycling, and resource competition, I aim to unravel the mechanisms behind consumer productivity.
My research primarily targets freshwater ecosystems.
