MedMentor ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-assisted study companion for MBBS students. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use the MedMentor mobile app on Android and iOS.
By using MedMentor, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
MedMentor is an independent educational app. It is not affiliated with TNMGRMU, the NMC, or any university or examination authority.

When you sign in, we receive information from your identity provider:

We use Firebase Authentication (Google) to manage sign-in. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.

Questions you ask the tutor (text, and optionally voice or photo-derived text)

We do not require you to upload full textbook PDFs through the app.
Camera / photo: Used on-device to scan text from notes (OCR). Images are processed to extract text.
Microphone / speech recognition: Used to convert speech to text for tutor questions.
You can deny camera or microphone permission and still use most app features by typing questions.
MedMentor is free and supported by ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect advertising IDs, device information, and ad interaction data. See Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob policies.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
AI outputs may be wrong, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. Do not rely on AI responses alone for exams or clinical decisions.
Many features use artificial intelligence, including Google Gemini. Questions you submit may be processed to generate responses. We do not use your questions to train public AI models in a way that identifies you personally.

To show citations and figures, MedMentor references book titles, page excerpts, diagrams, and past-paper content from indexed sources. We do not claim ownership of publisher or university materials. See our Terms & Conditions.
We retain your account data while your account is active.
You may delete your account anytime from Profile > Delete account.
Aggregated or anonymised data may be kept for analytics or legal compliance.
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase security rules, and authenticated API access. No method of storage is 100% secure.
MedMentor is intended for MBBS and medical students. If you are under the age required in your country to consent to data processing, use the app only with a parent or guardian's involvement.
Your data may be processed on servers outside your country (including regions where Google Cloud operates).
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact lkarthik76@gmail.com. Account deletion is available in-app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
