Purple Stride is a 5k run hosted by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to raise awareness, advocacy, and funds for pancreatic cancer research.
We helped set up, decorate, and tear down various tents including the survivor tent, food and beverage tent, and Registration/Check-in/T-shirt tent. We also helped decorate the route and remove chalk paintings from the concrete.
Spring Quarter
The Vitalant Blood Drive saves lives around the world through blood donations. Each year the Premed AMSA holds a vitalant blood drive on campus where students from MEDLIFE have the chance to volunteer or donate.
We helped set up, check in donors, and tear down the blood drive event on campus. We also passed out snacks and drinks preparing people to donate for a good cause!
Grace Gardens is committed to carrying out the original mission to feed fresh produce to people who need them. While doing this, they follow Master Gardener horticultural practices based on scientific research and educate the community about gardening, the ecosystem, and sustainable practices.
We helped plant new vegetables, water the crops, and secure tomato plants to stakes with string.
Fall and Spring Quarters
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light The Night is an event where the community gathers to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. Friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this community fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families.

Saint John’s Program for Real Change supports women in crisis and their children through a residential program designed to help them build a successful new life for themselves and their families.
We helped out in the kitchen, preparing and serving the families living in the community. We also helped out in the childcare center by cleaning light fixtures, surfaces & toys. We also touched up the paint & learned a lot about the program and the lives they’ve touched!

Challah for Hunger makes, bakes, and sells challah, in an effort to raise money and awareness for alleviating hunger.
We helped make the dough for the challah.
In collaborating with Nishkam Sewa and SHARED (2 UCD clubs), we hosted a fundraiser and used the profits to make and assemble care packages for the homeless (which was then distributed by another organization, HOPE at UC Davis). We made 2 different types of care packages - one was filled with hygiene items, while the other with non perishable food items.

Cards for Hospitalized Kids is an organization that helps distribute joy, hope and magic to hospitalized kids across the U.S. through uplifting, handmade cards.
Yolo Food Bank coordinates the recovery, storage, and distribution of more than 8 million pounds of food annually. The food goes to those battling food insecurity in the community.
We helped assemble, package, and hand out produce, dairy, poultry and snacks.
Winter 2023
Meals on Wheels Yolo County has been providing a daily hot meal to seniors in our region for over 40 years. Their mission is to nourish and enrich the lives of individuals in Yolo County with emphasis on those age 60 and older, by providing nutritious meals to active and home bound people; thereby, promoting their health and well-being. MEDLIFE volunteered as kitchen aides, helping to prepare and package the meals that will be delivered to community members.
SPRING 2022
Loaves and Fishes is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing warm meals, essential survival supplies and daily services for nearly 1,000 adults and children experiencing homelessness. MEDLIFE helped prepare and serve meals to community members.

Nazun (aka Challah for Hunger) is a national organization that brings people together to bake and sell challah, in an effort to raise money and awareness for social justice causes, namely alleviating hunger.
WINTER 2022
Yolo Food Bank’s Eat Well Yolo is a public grocery distribution program that provides free, essential food to individuals in every Yolo County community. MEDLIFE volunteers assisted in the food sorting area, packing the food into bags and loading participants' vehicles.

Project Linus is a non-profit organization that collects new handmade blankets and distributes them to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need. MEDLIFE made 12 child-size blankets to donate!
Campaign One at a Time is a 501(c)3 nonprofit on a mission to ensure no child battling a severe illness ever feels alone. They spend one on one time with kids battling cancer, provide their families with critical support, and host fundraising campaigns to put together one at a time experiences for the children and their families.
Wellspring serves as a drop-in center to vulnerable women and their children and provides a nutritious breakfast and light lunch. They serve approximately 200 women and their children every weekday by providing healthy meals, case management, free counseling, art therapy, enrichment classes and workshops, and safety net services.
