The Medina Homeschool offers a variety of elective courses for students in K-12 at partnering third party vendor locations. Please see the schedule and details below.
Note: all off-site classes require a liability waiver to be signed by a legal parent/guardian before the first class. These will be emailed to you after confirmation of your child's schedule.
Note: F25 courses are fall 2025 courses. S26 are spring 2026 courses. F25/S26 are year-long courses.
This introductory gymnastics course focuses on flexibility, strength, coordination, and body control through safe and progressive exercises. Students will learn fundamental gymnastics movements, including four Olympic gymnastics events: vault, floor exercise, balance beam, and rings/uneven bars. The course emphasizes safety, discipline, and confidence-building through movement.
Location: Michigan Academy of Gymnastics (5870 N Hix Rd, Westland, MI 48185)
Grades: K-8. Parents are required to stay on-site for the duration of the lesson.
Note: The boys gymnastics class will be led by a male instructor. The girls gymnastics class will be led by a female instructor.
The multidisciplinary Individual Sports classes are designed to enhance the student's physical education curriculum. Students study the basics of swimming in a cross-curricular manner as it relates to their personal fitness and wellness. Students will use technology to understand the workings of the human body and how exercise affects their body. The optional lab portion of the class is offered at various locations. Each semester a selection of elective classes are offered. Students will concentrate on the improvement of specific sport skills and strategies needed to successfully master and to enjoy recreational sports.

Grades: 3-12. Parents are required to stay on-site for the duration of the lesson.

Note: This class will start before Labor Day. The first class will be on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
Grades: 3-12. Parents are required to stay on-site for the duration of the lesson.
This course is a beginners introduction to Equine care, riding and training practices that focuses on exposing students to the Equine world who may not have previous exposure or experience. Students will explore a variety of riding styles, training techniques, and medical and ferrier care. Students will learn how to lead, groom, and saddle their horse; learn proper riding technique; understand the basics of equine care and nutrition; develop strength, balance, and coordination; and improve soft skills, such as communication, socialization, respect, and self-confidence.
Note: There is an additional out-of-pocket amount of $100/student/semester for this course.

Grades: 2-12
Stay active and have fun in this high-energy gym class! Students will participate in a variety of activities, including team sports like soccer, basketball, and volleyball, as well as fitness challenges and cooperative games. They’ll develop strength, coordination, and teamwork skills while learning the basics of these popular sports. This class promotes a healthy lifestyle and encourages physical activity in an exciting and inclusive environment.

Grades: K-12. Parents are required to stay on-site for the duration of the lesson.
The multidisciplinary Individual Sports classes are designed to enhance the student's physical education curriculum. Students study the basics of swimming in a cross-curricular manner as it relates to their personal fitness and wellness. Students will use technology to understand the workings of the human body and how hydrodynamics and the properties of the water affects their body when submersed. The optional lab portion of the class is offered at various locations. Each semester a selection of elective classes are offered. Students will concentrate on the improvement of specific swim skills and water safety skills applicable to everyday life.

Grades: K-12 (Girls) and K-8 (Boys). Parents are required to stay on-site for the duration of the lesson.

All students will be required to purchase a Learn to Skate USA Membership for $17.25.
