Hands-On Group Learning, Parent-Led
We’re excited to offer a weekly learning pod for Grades 1–4 and Grades 5–8, available exclusively for full-time students enrolled through OVA (Oxford Virtual Academy). This is a parent-led, co-op style pod focused on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Subjects Covered:
Science – using Elemental Science (hands-on experiments included)
Social Studies – using My World
Math – using Mammoth Math
Language Arts – using a combination of Memoria Press (novels + Core Skills), IEW (grades 1-3) + Fix-It Grammar (grades 4-8) and Spelling Workout
How It Works:
Parents take turns leading lessons and activities on a rotating schedule.
Lessons are completed during pod time – no extra work required at home for these subjects.
Focus on hands-on, group-based learning with activities, experiments, and discussions.
A great opportunity for kids to connect socially while staying on track academically.
For High School (Grades 9–12):
OVA offers a full range of core academic courses for full-time students. While we don’t currently offer a pod for high school, families are welcome to connect and collaborate informally for additional support or enrichment.
Location & Schedule:
Pods meet once per week
Location and schedule will be determined based on the availability of registered families. Currently, the pod meets on Wednesdays from 12-2:30 (grades 1-4) and 2:30-4 (grades 5-8)
All participating families must contribute to leading and supporting sessions
If you're a full-time OVA and Medina family looking for a more social and hands-on way to support your child's education, this pod could be a great fit!
