I would use this in my classroom on a daily basis. The blank document is easy to navigate and allows creativity in your work. From what was gathered in my experience with google forms, you can create questions and get answers from students or parents. This can be used to gather information on student opinions or where the students are on the material. This tool can also be implemented for other events like after school, sports, and fundraisers by the school. A great example of this would be the safety agreement for participating in science activity. This can be sent in email to students and parents to make sure that they understand required behavior and safety hazards.
Nearpod a great classroom management system when used sparingly. I have taught with Nearpod and it makes teaching easy to manage. This has the same style of Class Dojo except it is more interactive. Students are provide with a work book to work from when done with their lesson. Some lessons involve a reading and others involve an interactive video for the students. Small assessments show up throughout the lesson to assess student participation and knowledge. The teacher moves the lesson along at their pace or student pace. If there is a reading and the student cannot read along, the teacher can read with them or a video of the reading. The teacher also sees the students screens to make sure who is on task and who is not.
Class Dojo is a wonderful management tool because it can be teacher led or independent. Leading the classroom is the best way to teach these lessons, since these lessons include a video, discussion, share, and an activity to do after. Since most students are now 1-on-1 with chromebooks this can be used on a daily basis if required. This can also allows teachers to monitor if the student is on task or not and when to intervene. Students also earn eggs be helping others, staying on task, teamwork, and more. These can be supported by a sweet treat, stars, or a reward at recess. This is also a good tool to communicate with students and parents since messages can be sent to parents about students performance in class or behavioral issues.
I have used google classroom while teaching summer school. This has helped keep students on tasks and allowing students to become more independent in the classroom. Classroom also allows for updates and homework assignements (With limitations) that students can complete as a grade.
