The asset manager is the main way that we keep track of tasks. It is divided into two separate tabs: Asset List and Weekly Tasks. Every task on the asset manager has a category, a description (if needed), completion level, priority level (low, medium, high), file info, assignee, a space for notes, and a due date. The completion level includes not started, placeholder, alpha, beta, completed (untested), completed (tested), and finalized.
The Asset List section of the asset manager is more general, and keeps track of the status of a certain asset, like the battery and the engineer. It keeps track of specific things like the model, the texture, the player controller, etc. Every task that has a dedicated space in the asset template has a link that takes you there.
The Weekly Tasks tab is much more specific. When it comes to weekly tasks, we start with making a list of things that needs to get done and then assigning them to people who can complete it. We divide weekly due dates into two, getting as much done as we can before the first, playtesting that first build, then taking the information we got from playtesting and changing assets or gameplay before the second build is due.
