Mechanical Engineering is a branch of Engineering in existence over centuries. Mechanical Engineering is enriched with the recent developments in the fields of Industrial Engineering, Computer-Aided Design, Automated Machines, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Robotics, Nanotechnology etc. The Department of Mechanical Engineering started in 2005 has been the heart and spirit of this premier institution right from its inception. Rated very high, this department is the Alma Mater of several technocrats and researchers the world over. The faculty members have published more than 500 papers in National/International Journals/ Conferences during the last 5 years and fetched many awards. The department provides value-added knowledge to nearly 750 undergraduates, 110 postgraduates, and full-time and part-time research scholars. The department has sophisticated laboratory facilities to conduct research work on different specialized areas of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.

Mechanical Engineering involves the design, development, and operation of machines and systems. It is one of the broadest engineering disciplines as it involves anything with moving parts. As a mechanical engineer, you can work across all stages of product development, from research and design to installation and commissioning.
