Territory

Echeyde Clan lives in a coastal territory, on an island of volcanic origin where volcanic activity has not yet ceased completely.

Its territories extend throughout the eastern half of the municipality of Guimara, delimited by the highway and the sea, covering the city, part of the rural areas of crops and Guanche ruins and the entire protected area of ​​the badlands.

The badlands are an arid, rocky territory, with only bushes as vegetation and without life or water in the sight of the inexperienced eye, but humans have protected it for its geological value and two endemic plants, without realizing that there is a narrow network of volcanic tunnels below, narrow for humans, but perfect for cats, where they can find prey such as lizards, beetles, bees, rodents... and even a small underground spring of drinking water. In addition to the abundance of shellfish, crustaceans and fish along the entire coast of the Malpaís.

Also, although the city's residents are prohibited from feeding the cats, they treat them with affection and it is the city council that puts out dishes with food for them in case they have a shortage of prey. In exchange for the affection of the two-legged cats, they do not get angry when they cross their badlands along the paths that the city council has marked, but they must not leave the path.
