I am currently pursuing an M.S. in Applied Statistics (Thesis Track) in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). My academic interests center on statistical methodology and biostatistics, particularly methods motivated by problems in biomedical, public-health, and population research.
My current research includes an analysis of adolescent fertility among ever-married women in Bangladesh using the 2022 Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS). Using complex survey methods and survey-weighted regression modeling, this work investigates demographic and socioeconomic factors associated with adolescent fertility. The project has strengthened my interest in statistical challenges arising from observational and population-health data, including regression modeling, statistical inference, complex sampling designs, and reproducible data analysis.
More broadly, I am interested in biostatistics, regression and statistical modeling, computational statistics, and statistical learning. I am particularly drawn to research in which methodological questions emerge from substantive problems in medicine, public health, and biomedical science. I hope to work at the interface between statistical methodology and collaborative scientific research, where new or improved statistical approaches can contribute to meaningful scientific questions.
Alongside research, I have a strong interest in teaching and statistical communication. As a graduate teaching assistant at UNLV, I have taught and supported undergraduate courses in statistics and mathematics. I enjoy making quantitative concepts intuitive and accessible and view teaching as an important part of my development as a researcher.
My long-term goal is to pursue a research and academic career in statistics or biostatistics, contributing to rigorous statistical methodology while collaborating on biomedical and public-health research. I value careful statistical reasoning, interdisciplinary collaboration, reproducibility, and clear scientific communication.
