About Diane Goldman
Diane Goldman is General Counsel for Pebble Beach Company, which owns Pebble Beach Golf Links and four other world-renowned golf courses, as well as three of the most celebrated hotels in the world and a Forbes Five Diamond spa. Pebble Beach Company is a cornerstone of our community, employing hundreds of local residents.
Since joining the company in 1994, Diane has provided practical and approachable counsel, led innovative litigation avoidance programs, and overseen strategic planning and litigation management. Her responsibilities include extensive oversight of labor and employment matters, contract and records management, intellectual property and licensing programs, and the company’s risk management and insurance strategies.
During Pebble Beach’s many high-profile golf tournaments and special events, Diane ensures compliance, directs vendor safety programs, and supports security initiatives. She also designs and teaches innovative training programs to help hotel managers effectively respond to the wide range of challenges that can arise in a resort environment.
Diane earned her undergraduate degree from Truman University in Kirksville, Missouri, and her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law. She is an active member of the Monterey County Bar Association and has served on the boards of both the Monterey County Women Lawyers Association and California Women Lawyers.

Every year, the Monterey County Women Lawyers Association honors one outstanding member of the local legal community with its Lady Justice Lifetime Achievement Award for Legal Advocacy and Community Service. The recipient of the Lady Justice Award is typically a legal trailblazer who passionately gives back the community.
The Lady Justice Lifetime Achievement Award seeks to recognize a member of the local legal community who has been a strong legal advocate and had a passion for community service throughout his/her career. The recipient shall be selected on the basis of merit. S/he shall:
Be a member in good standing with the California State Bar, or a retired member who retired in good standing with the California State Bar, or a present or past member of the Bench.
Be a present or past member of the Monterey County Bar Association, or Monterey County Bench, or a member of the MCWLA.
Be of outstanding stature in the Monterey County legal community.
Have a demonstrated, exceptional commitment to legal achievement.
Have voluntarily committed a significant amount of time, with no expectation of being paid, to providing community service, whether legal service or otherwise.
Other factors considered may include:
The length of the nominee’s career.
The difficulty of the legal advocacy undertaken.
The success of the legal advocacy undertaken.
The impact of the legal advocacy undertaken.
The type and scope of community involvement demonstrated.
The impact of the community involvement demonstrated.
Contribution of time to and involvement with the Monterey County Bar Association.
Contribution of time to and involvement with the Monterey County Women Lawyers Association.
Legal and/or community involvement services provided to women.
Any other factors recognized by the MCWLA Board of Directors.
