Student Leaders

McVay Fellows

The McVay Youth Partnership selects, trains, and supports Hamline students to serve as McVay Fellows, who plan and lead the programming for their respective program site. The partnership is a unique opportunity for fellows to develop skills they can use for the rest of their lives and explore their commitment to making the world a better place. To be a McVay Fellow is an honor at Hamline University.

McVay Fellows are required to be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:15 - 6:15 p.m. If you would like more information contact Jane Krentz, the McVay Youth Partnership Director, at 651-523-2071 or by email at jkrentz01@hamline.edu.

McVay Interns and Associates

The McVay Youth Partnership selects, trains, and supports Hamline students to serve as McVay Interns, who assist McVay Fellows in delivering programming, leadership, and mentoring for middle/high school youth at designated church and church-related sites. McVay Interns work 1-2 afternoons per week and bring their unique talents to enrich the program.

Persons who have been McVay Fellows and want to continue to be involved in the program, but cannot be a Fellow for a variety of reasons can serve as a McVay Associate. McVay Interns who have demonstrated great leadership have the potential to become a Specialty Associate. McVay Interns, Associates, and Specialty Associates serve as ethical role models for youth attending the McVay Youth Partnership Youth-VOICE Program.
