A STAGE ACTOR'S SURVIVAL GUIDE
Stage Makeup
Stage make up is very important when you are on the stage. The stage lights WILL wash you out and make you look pale. Majority of shows will usually need a general make up style that you put on. Other shows may need some specialty effects for the character's type. You should always make a make up plan for your character or characters in case you play multiple characters.
What make up do I get? Up to you. There is stage make up kits or you can go to the store and build your own. A good recommendation is using the Ben Nye® theatrical crème kit. The personal kit is a common kit to get as it has the basics. There is a larger kit if you choose too.
The kit come with a base crème, brush, eyeliner pencil, make up sponges, small creme pallet for details, and translucent powder to conceal the make up.
Note for choosing your makup: Be sure to know your base tone color! That will be important so you can get the base creme.
DO NOT SHARE YOUR MAKE UP WITH OTHER ACTORS!
This can spread unwanted diseases or infections.
