“Creating a classroom community is vital but so is creating a professional community.
Shared pedagogy in a school or even course sequence can create a much more cohesive learning experience for our students. The conversations we have about our classroom instruction can lead to insights about why, what, and how we teach in our individual spaces” (Parker, Hopper, Shelton, and Oliphant-Ingham, 2022).
To celebrate the relaunching of Mississippi English Teacher, a blind, peer-reviewed, online journal of MCTE, our coeditors invite educators at all levels to submit your manuscripts. Our journal values innovative and inclusive classroom practice grounded in theory and research. Thus, we ask you to consider the following questions as they apply to your current pedagogy:
What innovative strategies are you incorporating into your classroom?
How are you thinking about engaging students in reading and writing?
How can we build a culture of literacy in our classrooms and beyond?
We value your voice and look forward to engaging in these discussions about literacy.
