The Mississippi Council of Teachers of English (MCTE) is a professional organization dedicated to supporting English Language Arts educators across Mississippi. As an affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English, we work to connect teachers, promote effective literacy instruction, and advocate for strong ELA education statewide.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support and empower ELA educators by providing opportunities for professional learning, collaboration, and advocacy that positively impact student learning.

Our Vision

We envision a strong, connected community of educators across Mississippi who are equipped with the tools, support, and inspiration needed to help all students become thoughtful readers, writers, and communicators.
