Mission Statement

The mission of the Montessori Community School School Counseling Program is to advocate for all learners through creating an equitable and accessible school environment by collaborating with stakeholders to remove barriers. Through participation in the data-driven school counseling program, all students will develop the skills and attitudes necessary for lifelong success.

Vision Statement

The school counselor will provide a safe, enriching, and encouraging environment that addresses the developmental, social, emotional, and academic needs of all students. Students will work to maximize their academic potential, develop relationships with peers & adults that are respectful and compassionate in nature, and form realistic, responsible long-term goals as they work towards college & career readiness.

Beliefs

The School Counselor believes:

  • In the development of the whole self, including a healthy balance of mental, social/emotional, and physical well-being.

  • All students have the ability to succeed.

  • All students deserve to learn in a supportive, respectful environment.

  • Life-long learning is necessary for long-term career success.

  • All students deserve to feel safe and respected in school, at home, and in the community.
