MESHNET is a Communications Project of MCPTNET.com (Maricopa County Preparedness Team Network).
MESHNET's MESHNET's mission is to assist Neighborhood Preparedness Team Leaders (NPG) in coordinating volunteers in their local community who will actively support a communications network as two way simplex transmission relay hubs (NODES) in the event of a man made or natural disaster.
MESHNET is focused on using unlicensed and licensed wireless tools like ZELLO, FRS, GMRS, and MESHTASTIC . Some of our volunteers have Amature Radio licenses and experience, but keeping this simple is more of what MESHNET is about.
If you're not sure what all those are, don't worry. We keep things simple and in plain English and we are always learning and teaching. That means that just about any member of your family from 8 years old and beyond can be empowered to take an active role in keeping the lines of communications open.
The tools you will learn and use are affordable for just about any budget and can be learned in hours, not months. The radios are simple and relatively easy to understand and use.
We will be meeting via ZOOM on a regular basis while the MESHNET NETWORK is being organized. We find this is a great tool to use because we are often sharing equipment, diagrams and other visuals.
