If you're considering getting one of the communication licenses issued by the Federal Communication Commission congratulations.
Navigating the FCC Website is not as intuitive and friendly as it should be. As a result, there have been a number of tutorials that have been created to help guide you along the way.
First things first.
You will need to get an FCC REGISTRATION NUMBER (FRN). At the time of this posting (December 2024) , there is no charge associated with obtaining your FRN.
NOTE: This is a separate stage from applying for your license. We urge you to do ahead and do this now so you can have your FRN assigned to you and you are ready to go.
To help guide you along this process, YouTuber David Casler of ASK DAVE has developed a helpful video to guide you along the process. CLICK HERE TO WATCH

APPLYING FOR YOUR LICENSE
Now that you have your FRN assigned to you and you are ready to apply for your license.
You will use the same FCC website to register for your license and pay the fees to the FCC. Turn around time can be as little as 24 hours, so once you are done keep an eye on your email inbox.
There is a fee for obtaining your FCC License.
WORDS OF CAUTION
The address you put into the FCC Registration system will be open to the world to see once you are registered. IF you are not good with that, then consider getting a box at a UPS store or seek out one of the services that will rent you a virtual address.
