Dear Theatre Families,
We hope this message finds you well and recovered from the Halloween festivities! Here are this week’s important updates and reminders from the MIST Theatre Department:
Our BookTix website is now live — reserve your seats today!
General Admission tickets will also be available at the door.
We highly recommend purchasing early to secure the best possible viewing experience.
MIST is committed to making performances accessible for all families. Scholarship tickets are available—please complete the Scholarship Ticket Request Form to apply. This form will close on 12/1.
Check out our Theatre Spirit Apparel at the MIST Spirit Store!
Orders can be placed through November 10, with delivery expected the week of December 1—perfect for holiday gifts!
Uniform-approved theatre gear makes a great keepsake or present.
We’re also offering Scholarship T-Shirts for students who need financial assistance. This form will close on 11/10.
Limited quantities available — please complete the Scholarship Form soon to reserve one.
As rehearsals become longer and more active, our students are giving their all — and that hard work can work up a sweat!
Please remind your student to wear deodorant daily and bring a small personal hygiene kit if needed.
A little care goes a long way in keeping our rehearsal spaces fresh and comfortable for everyone.
MIST provides most costumes; however, students will need a base layer to wear underneath:
Top: Black, fitted t-shirt or tank top with no writing or logos.
Bottom: Black, fitted pants or leggings with no writing or logos.
These layers help with quick costume changes and comfort.
If you need assistance providing base layer clothing or shoes for your student, please email us directly.
Note: If your student is in the Cave of Wonders scene, their base layer will serve as their costume, so please ensure it is school appropriate. No crop tops or bare middrifts.
We know theatre shoes can be tricky to find, so we’re allowing flexible options for this production:
Acceptable options: Birkenstocks, sandals, neutral boots, moccasins, or similar.
Socks (optional): Choose natural colors such as tan, beige, brown, chestnut, or sepia.
Please avoid bright colors, black, or white socks.
Some characters might have different shoe options. We will discuss options with those actors.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far!
We still have items available on our Amazon Wish List.
Consider purchasing an item or sending a digital gift card to help fill in remaining needs — every contribution makes a difference! Sometimes we don’t know what we need until we need it—and it’s usually when a student asks for something that we realize we forgot to order it.
Ensemble music tracks (songs where everyone sings) are posted in Schoology → Materials → “Ensemble Tracks” folder.
Lead vocals have been removed so students can practice their group parts effectively.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for our theatre program. We’re so proud of our students’ dedication and can’t wait to share their hard work with you soon!

⚒️Work Day Thanks & Opportunity
Huge thanks to the families who joined our recent Work Day! Agrabah is coming to life thanks to your time and talents. If you’d still like to help with building, cleaning, or crafting, reach out or email—we can schedule a time that works for you!
🧞Amazon Wish List
Thank you for your generous purchases! We still have items available if you’d like to contribute—or consider a digital gift card to help us fill gaps as needed.
📘Students Should Be Off-Book
Many students are doing great! If yours is still memorizing, check Schoology for ensemble tracks and use strategies like breaking lines into chunks, repetition, and movement to support their progress.
✅Attendance Reminder
Please help students arrive on time—especially our 8th graders—as tardiness and absences impact the entire cast. Missed rehearsals and choreography can’t be made up and may affect stage time.
🎫Tickets & Show Dates
The box office is open. Please be sure to check which night your student performs—cast lists and dates are on our website. All sales are final. The link to the ticket site is available on our website.
6th grade families - If your performer has a sibling that attends McAuliffe, there is an option to add a free sibling pass. Please make sure to add this to your order. To do this, click on the performance date. Select the seats you would like by clicking on the dots. Then click the box that says $10 General Admission. Change the selection to $0 Sibling Pass for sibling seats only. Sibling passes are available for 6th grade shows only.
MIST strives to ensure that performances are accessible to everyone. Scholarship tickets are available for families. Please fill out this form to request scholarship tickets.
👕Spirit Store
We’re putting the final touches on the spirit store and will be offering McAuliffe Theatre merchandise soon.
Thanks for your continued support—we’re getting closer to showtime!
Grades
Many of our students took advantage of the recent work makeup days (9/26 & 9/29) to improve their grades — we’re proud of their efforts! Moving forward, students are expected to complete their Do Nows during the first five minutes of class, as part of building strong, consistent habits.
Build Day – Saturday, October 18
Our next Build Day is scheduled for Saturday, October 18. There are two volunteer shifts available:
Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Afternoon Shift: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Please click here to learn more and sign up. Your support helps us create a magical experience for our students and audience!
Amazon Wish List
We’ve put together an Amazon Wish List for items needed to bring our show to life. Any contributions, big or small, make a huge difference. Thank you in advance for your generosity — we truly couldn’t do this without our amazing community.
Off-Book Deadline – October 20
All performers are expected to be off book — meaning their lines and lyrics are fully memorized — by October 20. Please check in with your student to ensure they’re practicing at home. There are nine ensemble songs that involve the full cast. The only exceptions are:
“One Jump (Reprise) / Proud of Your Boy” – Aladdin solo
“These Palace Walls” – Jasmine and her royal attendants
We’ll be holding a live, in-person lines and lyrics check around the October 20 deadline.
