Math Prayers

Dear God, May we, through your blessings, add purity in the world.

Subtract evil from our lives, multiply our good news,

and divide Your gifts and share them with others. Amen

Almighty God, We pray to You to have our joys added, sorrows subtracted, friends multiplied, love divided, and problems solved. Amen

  • We will not use rocket math this school year. We will use a different math program to master facts. It will be called fact check Friday. We will begin with addition facts 0-24. We will then move to subtraction facts 0-24. Students will have multiplication and division fact check Fridays once these facts are presented in class.

  • Mastery of the basic math operations (adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division) will ensure that a proper foundation of knowledge is formed to build on future skills and concepts.

  • Math facts should be practiced at home daily. Please see the 2 lists of useful math practice websites.

  • Students will use IXL in math class. Students are also encouraged to use IXL at home. This will allow them to practice math skills covered in class.

  • Students will have several opportunities for grading through classwork, homework, math facts review, quizzes, and tests. Math quizzes and tests will be given. When preparing for a quiz/test, please review the Reteaching section and practice Topic Test in the textbook. Word problems should be answered in complete sentences. All work should be shown on the test.

  • Please refer to the reteaching intervention and chapter practice test at the end of each chapter.

That's a Fact
