We use Wonders by McGraw Hill as our main resource for our reading work. Students may use the online resources above for extra practice.

Reading test assess the students’ knowledge of the skills we are covering. The best way to prepare for a reading test is to study the vocabulary and make sure that they have an understanding of all the skills that were taught.

Students will participate in group work. Group work packets will only be worked in class but can be a vital tool for understanding and mastering skills.

IXL will be used often in class. Do not complete IXLs at home unless I place on assignments.

Spelling lists will be given the day after the previous spelling test. We will have one spelling test every other week. Pretest will be given on Mondays. If a students makes a 100% on the pretest, they do not have to take the weekly spelling test on Fridays.

All spelling pre-tests will be completed on loose leaf paper.

All spelling tests will be completed through google classroom.

We use grammar workshop, but may sometimes go out of order from the workbook based on the skills that we need to cover and what aligns with our reading series. We will have weekly grammar quizzes and unit tests.

We will also work on daily language sheets for extra practice. These sheets will be counted as classwork.

IXL will be a large resource for extra practice. IXL will be worked on in class but can be finished at home if not completed in class. IXL will be graded according to our quiz schedule.
