Tool: Articulate 360 - Storyline
My Role: Researcher, script & storyboard writer, course designer, & voice-over artist
Learners: Career coaches, resume writers, and anyone interested in revising a resume
Objectives:
To inform and display the primary elements of a resume, highlight the most important sections included in the top 1/3 of a resume, review some common misconceptions, and present some dos and don'ts regarding writing a resume based on Ed Samuel's book and professional experience.
Learner Objectives:
Gain insight on how to write, format, and draw attention to the top 1/3 of a resume using the SamNova required elements
Recognize the important difference between job requirements and professional accomplishments
Discover common resume writing misconceptions, tips to avoid, and strategic tips to implement to have your resume recognized
Challenges:
Taking dry resume writing material and organizing the content in a structured way that was more visually appealing.
Solution:
I chose an architectural blueprint theme with floors and rooms to contain different sets of resume writing elements. More emphasis was placed on the first floor, which represented the first 1/3 of the resume and the most important section. I provided user engagement and interactivity by allowing the user to click on each floor blueprint and then select a specific room to view different resume sections, listen to content explanations, and participate in knowledge checks throughout the course.
Result:
My course objectives were met and the dry course content was made more interactive, but if I were to modify I would add more examples so the user could choose which example is best based on expectations.

Tool: Articulate 360 - Rise
My Role: Researcher, Content Developer, and Course Designer
Problem: There is a lack of awareness of the Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) and how damaging it can be to state economies.
My Objectives: To create an awareness of the Spotted Lanternfly by:
Describing what Spotted Lanternflies look like at various stages and how these insects can impact states' economies
Listing what to do if Spotted Lanternflies are found to keep them from spreading
Providing additional resources for more information
Learner Objectives:
Recognize the SLF and all of its life stages, where it is found, and its food sources
Describe the habits of the SLF and how these can directly impact state economies
Recall proactive actions for residents and business owners to suppress the population growth of these destructive insects
My Solution:
I created an Articulate Rise course that provided plenty of interesting facts, graphics, video clips, and additional resources about the Spotted Lanternfly. A knowledge check was included to reinforce how residents and businesses can work together to remove this insect and preserve our state's economy.
Project Outcome:
The user was able to recognize the SLF, recall why its habits are so detrimental to the agricultural economy, and recognize why residents are not too happy to have these plant hoppers in their backyards! Businesses that travel from/to a quarantined area now have more of a background as to why they may need permits for traveling and shipping supplies/merchandise.
