Historical malaria prevalence in Senegal from 1905 to 2014

Data from 1,334 surveys conducted in Senegal between 1905 and 2014.

The data were assembled from three different data sources: historical archives

and libraries of ex-colonial institutes; online electronic databases

with data on malaria infection prevalence published since the 1980s;

national household sample surveys. In assembling the data for the analysis,

we only included locations that were classified as individual villages or

communities or a collection of communities within a definable area that does

not exceed 5 square km.

The variables are:

- Long: longitude of the sampled community.

- Lat: latitude of the sampled community.

- YY: year of the survey.

- LoAge: minimum age among the sampled individuals.

- UpAge: maximum age among the sampled individuals.

- Ex: total number of examined individuals.

- Pf: number of positively tested individuals for Plasmodium falciparum.
