• Rec Registration: October 18 - November 27... December 1, 2025

• Volunteer Coach Assignments: week of December 1 (MBA if you are interested in coaching) 

• Team Drafts and Player Notifications: by December 1

• Practices: in December Only (Fri, December 5 thru Sun, December 21)

  • • Teams will practice 2-3 times in December and will play games only in January, February and March

• Winter Break: December 22 - January 1

• Games Begin: Friday, January 2, 2026

• Picture Day: Saturday, January 17, 2026

• Season Concludes: mid-March 2026

Rec Basketball Leagues:

• EVERYONE IS WELCOME! No previous playing experience necessary. Our Recreational (Rec) leagues are open to all kids who have an interest in playing basketball and want to have fun on the court this winter.
  
  

• Our Rec Instructional program is for boys and girls in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. Each weekly session includes practice time focused on basketball skill development and game play between opposing teams.
  
  

• Our Rec league is for boys and girls in 3rd - 12th grades. We host separate boys and girls divisions that include practices to prepare for the season and regular season game play for each team.
  
  

• The Rec season begins in early December and concludes in early March

Rec Team Formation Reminders:

• Rec Instructional league: We make every effort to accommodate friend requests for grades K - 2nd.
  
  

• Rec league: Teams in 3rd-12th grades are selected through a player draft to help ensure equal distribution of player experience and skill across each division. Coaches are paired with their children, but friend or teammate requests are not accepted.
  
  

• Coaches participate in a pre-season draft to select team rosters.
  
  

• Head Coaching a team provides you with the best opportunity to shape the team's roster!!

MBA Rec League Information

• Grades and Divisions

  • • Instructional League includes co-ed divisions for grades K and 1st & 2nd

    • Rec League includes separate boys and girls divisions for grades 3rd to 12th

• Team Formation

  • • Instructional League (Grades K-2): We make every effort to honor coach and teammate requests 

    • Rec League (Grades 3-12): Teams are drafted by the coaches - No coach or teammate requests available 

• Registration

  • • Individual player registration only; full team submissions are not accepted

    • Registration fee is $199 per player

    • Discounts available for families with multiple players - email MBA to receive discount code

• Schedule (subject to change based on gym availability and number of participants)

  • • Practices begin Sat Dec 6th and end Sun Dec 21st - Teams will only practice before games start.

    • Games start Fri Jan 2, 2026 - Team will only play games during the regular season

    • Weeknights (including Friday): Boys HS, Boys 7-8

    • Saturday Morning (9am - 1pm): K, Girls 1-2 and Girls 3rd 

    • Saturday Afternoon (1 - 6pm): Boys 1-2, Girls 4-5, Boys 5-6

    • Saturday Evening (6 - 9pm): Boys HS, Boys 7-8, Girls 6-7-8

    • Sunday Afternoon (12 - 5pm): Boys 3-4, Girls 6-7-8

• Gym locations in the greater Montgomeryville / North Wales / Lansdale, PA area (incl. Montgomery Township Rec Center, Gwyn-Nor Elementary, Pennbrook Middle School, XL Sports Hatfield, and more.)
