안녕, 나는 뚜기야! (Hello, I am Dooki!)
Meet Ddooki the Rice Cake—your squishy, bouncy guide to all things Korean! Ddooki is a chubby, cheerful cylinder with a tiny smile and a twirly mini hanbok scarf that flutters like a happy flag. This giggly buddy is inspired by tteokbokki, a dish that began as elegant royal court cuisine and later became one of Korea’s most beloved street foods. From bustling markets to childhood snack-time memories, tteokbokki carries warmth, fun, and community—exactly the spirit Ddooki brings to our language adventures with stories, games, and sticky-sweet laughs that make Korean words really stick.
Garaetteok, the long white rice cake used in dishes like tteokbokki and tteokguk, also carries deep symbolism in Korean culture, representing wishes for longevity, purity, blessings, and fresh beginnings. That’s why it shows up at New Year celebrations and other meaningful moments. I chose garaetteok as our mascot because it reflects the heart of this language club: a place for fresh starts, joyful learning, shared community, and building long-lasting connections. With Ddooki leading the way, dive into my intro., community pages, and deliciously fun lessons that turn learning Korean into your new favorite snack-time adventure!
