In this course, we studied the world of nursing professionalism and covered things such as professional groups, organizations, and rules that guide the nurses in Ontario. I also learned about the core nursing theories to shape our identity as nurses, especially in healthcare team settings. The course emphasized how concepts like fairness, cultural understanding, relationship-building, and social factors are vital to people's health outcomes. We were also encouraged to advocate for incorporating Indigenous Health knowledge in our planning of patient care. Understanding the legalities, such as the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) helped me explore whether nursing actions are allowed in different work situations or not. The knowledge that I have learned is vital for my future nursing career in Canada.
