overview

i help organize a free, in-person, learning/sharing/socializing event focused on giving people in the Northampton area the skills and materials to able to repair and alter fabric things: the Mending Circle!

i firmly believe that i cannot do it all and that our communities would benefit from more of us being able to do basic fabric work for ourselves and each other. i hope and envision others joining in to co-create the space with me.

where and when and how to stay in the loop

Mending Circle usually happens on Sundays about twice per month, mostly commonly in Florence and Williamsburg.

there is an email list you can join where i send reminders of when and where Mending Circle is happening next, as well as schedule changes and cancelations. send me an email at maxthemender@gmail.com to ask to join the email list!

reasons to come to the Mending Circle

accessibility

i try to provide location-specific accessibility information about each Mending Circle in the email list.

i provide some communal tools and materials for anyone who needs them, and feel free to bring your own for personal use or sharing.

i provide water, tea, and food (including gluten-free and vegan options), and feel free to bring food and beverages of your own for personal use or sharing.

i strive for the Mending Circle to be accessible for people with fragrance and chemical sensitivities. please avoid wearing or bringing body and fabric products with fragrances! here is a guide that explains how to do that.

please reach out to me if there is a way I might be able to meet your access needs if you live in the Northampton area and the Mending Circle is consistently not accessible for you due to disability, recurring schedule conflict, or other circumstances.
