How to Earn Points

💰 Every Service Earns Points

$1 spent = 1 point

Points are calculated on the final amount you pay (after any discounts). They work on:

• Lawn maintenance (mowing, edging, fertilization)

• Lawn care agreements (bi-weekly or weekly contracts)

• Specialized lawn care (aeration, overseeding, rolling)

• Garden & landscaping services

• Snow removal (per-event or seasonal contracts)

• Firewood delivery (one-time, regular, or subscription)

• Trash collection services

• Elderly errands & helpful services

• ALL current and future services 

Example: Pay $50 for snow removal → Earn 50 points

• Earn 100 points ($10 value) when your referred friend completes their first service

• Unlimited referrals - refer 5 friends, earn 500 points!

Your Friend (New Customer):

• Gets 50 bonus points ($5 value) credited after completing first service

• Plus points from their first service payment

How It Works:

1. Get your unique referral code: FirstName + Last Initial + House Number

   • Example: John Smith at 460 Cass St = JOHNS460

   • Example: Mary Johnson at 123 Oak Ave = MARYJ123

2. Give your referral code to friends/family

3. They mention your code when booking their first service

4. They complete their first service

How to Redeem Points

100 points = $10 credit

Redemption Rules:

• Minimum redemption: 50 points ($5 credit)

• Redeem any amount over 50 points (no need to wait for exact hundreds)

• Credits applied at time of service or invoicing

• YOU choose when to redeem - save up or use immediately

Examples:

• Have 75 points? Redeem for $7.50 credit

• Have 250 points? Redeem for $25 credit

• Have 1,000 points? Redeem for $100 credit

• Firewood Heavy Subscription: $80.75/month (already 15% off)

• Firewood order: $49.50 (already 10% off as regular customer)

Point Expiration & Rules

⏰ Point Expiration

Points expire 3 years from date earned

• Expiration applies to individual point batches (oldest points expire first)

• Example: Points earned January 2025 expire January 2028

• Maven Lawn Services will notify you 30 days before points expire

• Gives you plenty of time to use them!

Example Timeline:

• November 2025: Earn 100 points (expire November 2028)

• December 2025: Earn 50 points (expire December 2028)

• January 2026: Redeem 75 points (uses 75 of your oldest November points)

• Remaining: 25 points (expire Nov 2028) + 50 points (expire Dec 2028)

📜 Program Rules

Important Terms:

• Points have no cash value and cannot be transferred

• Points are non-transferable between customers

• Fraudulent referrals or gaming the system results in point forfeiture

  • Examples of fraudulent referrals: Referring fake customers, creating multiple accounts to refer yourself, referring the same person multiple times under different names, coordinating with others to abuse the referral system

  • Examples of gaming the system: Making excessive small purchases just to reach milestone bonuses artificially, canceling and re-booking services repeatedly to inflate service counts, splitting one service into multiple bookings to manipulate point calculations, deliberately creating scenarios to exploit loopholes, colluding with other customers to manipulate referrals or point transfers, any pattern of behavior designed to gain unfair advantage

• Points balance resets to zero if customer account closed or inactive for 3+ years

Program Changes:

• Maven Lawn Services reserves the right to modify the program with 30-day advance notice

• Points already earned maintain their original redemption value (grandfathered)

• Active subscription customers locked into current terms for subscription duration

• Changes posted on website and sent via text/email to all active customers

Customer Protections: If we change the program (example: from 100 points = $10 to 100 points = $8), your points earned BEFORE the change still redeem at the old rate. You're protected!

• Paid $408 upfront for Premium contract → 408 points earned

• November: 5 bundles $55 → 55 points

Trash Subscription:

• 3 months × $25 = $75 → 75 points

Elderly Errands for Mom:

• 2 grocery trips × $20 = $40 → 40 points

10th Service Milestone:

• Bonus: +50 points

John's Total: 408+55+55+55+75+40+50 = 738 points

John redeems: 400 points ($40) toward next year's snow contract John still has: 338 points ($33.80) saved for spring services!

Mike refers 3 neighbors:

Neighbor 1 (Jane):

• Jane books snow removal, mentions Mike

• Jane completes service, pays $50

• Jane earns: 50 points (service) + 50 points (new customer bonus) = 100 points

• Mike earns: 100 points (referral bonus)

Neighbor 2 (Bob):

• Bob books firewood subscription, mentions Mike

• Bob completes first delivery, pays $46.75

• Bob earns: 47 points (service) + 50 points (new customer bonus) = 97 points

• Mike earns: 100 points (referral bonus)

Neighbor 3 (Lisa):

• Lisa books trash subscription, mentions Mike

• Lisa's first month complete, pays $25

Q: When do I start earning points?

A: Immediately! Every service you pay for earns points from day one.

Q: Can I use points on my first service?

A: If you're a new customer with the referral bonus, yes! Otherwise, you'll need to earn points from at least one service first.

Q: Do subscription services earn points?

A: Yes! Every monthly subscription payment earns points. Example: $25/month trash subscription = 25 points every month.

Q: What counts as a "service" for milestone bonuses?

A: Each completed service counts.
One-time services = 1 service.
Monthly subscriptions = 1 service per month.
Example: 10 months of firewood subscription = 10 services.

Q: Can I combine multiple people's points?

A: No, points are non-transferable between customers. Each household/customer account has their own point balance.

Q: What if I forget to give my referral code when my friend books?

A: Just call or text us within 48 hours of their first service and we'll add the referral bonus retroactively.

Q: Do points expire if I use your services regularly?

A: Points expire 3 years from the date each batch was earned, regardless of whether you continue using our services. Each point batch has its own 3-year expiration from when you earned it.

Example:

• January 2025: Earn 100 points (expire January 2028)

• June 2025: Order firewood and earn 50 new points (expire June 2028)

• January 2028: Your original 100 points expire (even though you're an active customer)

• You still have the 50 points from June 2025 until June 2028

Q: Can I get cash instead of credit?

A: No, points have no cash value. They can only be redeemed as credit toward Maven Lawn Services.

Q: What happens to my points if you change the program?

A: Your existing points are grandfathered at the old redemption rate. Only NEW points earned after the change would use the new rate.

Q: Do I earn points on the amount before or after discounts?

A: You earn points on the final amount you actually pay (after all discounts applied).

Q: Can I redeem partial points?

A: Yes! As long as you redeem at least 50 points ($5), you can redeem any amount. Example: Redeem 73 points for $7.30 credit.

Q: How do I know when I hit a milestone?

A: We'll text/call you to let you know and your bonus points will be added automatically!

Q: Do I earn points when I use a points redemption?

A: You earn points based on what you actually PAY, not the original price.

Example:

• Service costs $50

• You redeem 100 points ($10 credit)

• You pay $40

• You earn 40 NEW points (based on $40 paid)

You're NOT earning points on the 100 points you redeemed - you're earning points on the $40 cash you paid. The $10 credit from points doesn't earn additional points.
