I have been working on getting {indigenousbr} back to a downloadable version. For now, it has been non downloadable.
{indigenousbr} is my first R package! It consists of an easy way to access relevant data about the Brazilian indigenous peoples. The package contains cleaned and structured (tidy) datasets about indigenous peoples’ health and demography along with a web scraping functionality that allows the user to obtain updated information about COVID-19 indigenous casualties.
The package was a way I found to make the indigenous health discussion easier to get into. It was very hard to get a hold of the data as Brazilian bureaucracy can be hard to dodge. Now any researcher (or anyone for that matter) who is interested in the topic can just type one line of code and get access to already tidy data on the matter. I used its data to make the graphic on the right, where we can see how indigenous deaths (including preventable ones) have not decreased throughout the decade.
It is not yet on CRAN but it is available for download on my Github! There you can also find a more in depth explanation of the package. I left an easy to click link here on the right so that it is easy to check!
