Adjunct Instructor (Normandale Community College)
As an instructor at Normandale I have worked with a diverse student population through my teaching and student mentoring. In addition to the traditional style classrooms I have instructed, I have utilized computer guided mathematical software, flipped learning, online learning communities, and inquiry based approaches to mathematical learning.
Teaching Assistant (University of Minnesota)
As a teaching assistant at the University of Minnesota I was responsible for teaching lecture and recitation sections, grading, and student evaluation for several undergraduate mathematics classrooms. During this time I advanced from the general teaching assistant role to a teaching specialist where I was the primary instructor on record and developed a flipped classroom approach to calculus and pre-calculus mathematics.
Workshop Leader (University of Minnesota Talented Youth Program - UMTYMP)
UMTYMP is an accelerated program for students who are highly talented in mathematics. Although there are many math programs throughout the country, UMTYMP is unique in terms of the number of students, length of the program, scope of the curriculum, and the granting of honors level college credit to students in middle- and high-school. As a workshop leader I was responsible for ffacilitating active learning sessions and grading examinations. In addition I was charged with developing materials for enrichment activities and monitoring high school instructors as they delivered the content.
Teaching Assistant (Saint John's University)
As one of the only first year teaching assistants due to my accelerated mathematical knowledge I spent my four years in undergraduate as a teaching assistant and course assistant for various foundational mathematical courses. I was responsible for grading homework, staffing the tutoring center, and facilitating weekly workshop sessions.
