TEAM MEMBERS

ANDREW CAI

Andrew Cai is a rising senior at Clements High School, who has qualified for USA(J)MO six times, winning USAJMO once in eighth grade, and attending MOP once. He has been the individual runner-up at MathCounts Nationals twice, and is currently doing research with MIT PRIMES-USA. In addition, he placed first in Combinatorics at February HMMT, and is a USACO Platinum qualifier. He enjoys playing Word Hunt, challenging friends at basketball, and listening to Brockhampton songs.

BEN WRIGHT

Ben Wright is a high school senior who will be attending MIT in the fall. He got 5th place individual in National MATHCOUNTS four years ago in middle school. He went to Phillips Exeter Academy for high school and attended MOP twice, in addition to being invited to Physics Camp. Ben did research with MIT PRIMES, and recently got 12th place overall in HMMT February. He was also a tournament director and head problem writer for EMCC across his various years in Exeter. Ben has worked as a teacher and teacher assistant for classes from both IDEA Math and Momentum Learning.

BRIAN LIU

Brian Liu is an undergraduate at UC Berkeley majoring in Applied Math and Integrative Biology, and minoring in CalTeach and Global Poverty and Practice. They qualified for USAJMO in 8th grade and USAMO in 9th grade, and dropped out of high school in 10th grade. However, knowing how so many resources undergo gatekeeping based on financial and network-based discrimination, they believe in free initiatives such as Math Divulged to help under-resourced communities access the same materials. They like learning languages and fighting for social justice issues such as animal rights, climate justice, and autism acceptance.

DYLAN LIU

Dylan is a rising sophomore at MIT. Currently declared as a math major, Dylan received honorable mention in the Putnam competition, qualified for the USA math olympiads 5 times, and received awards for math research conducted at PROMYS. Dylan is also involved in HMMT: he was a problem editor in the 2019-2020 tournaments, and he is the Friday Night Events director for the upcoming 2020-2021 tournaments. He has served as a teaching assistant at both AwesomeMath and IdeaMath, and he also ran a math circle at a local Sunday school. In his free time, Dylan likes to spend time with friends, play basketball, and play the piano.

ERIC GAN

Eric Gan is an incoming freshman at MIT and went to A&M Consolidated High School. He placed 5th at Texas Mathcounts State and won USAJMO in 8th grade. The following three years, he qualified for MOP, winning USAMO in 10th grade and placing Honorable Mention in 11th, as well as qualifying for USACO Platinum. He enjoys violin and used to teach tennis.

HELEN WANG

Helen is an incoming freshman at MIT from Texas. She's done research with the Honors Summer Math Camp at Texas State University and has qualified for the USACO gold division.

JEREMY ZHOU

Jeremy is an incoming senior at Phillips Academy. In eighth grade, he was a quarterfinalist at Mathcounts Nationals 2017. He has been invited to MOP and is a USAPhO gold medalist. In his free time, he enjoys going down Wikipedia rabbit holes and learning about languages.

JUSTIN YU

Justin Yu is an incoming freshman at MIT. As an 8th grader, he participated in Mathcounts Nationals and placed 7th in the written exam. He has qualified for USA(J)MO from 2016-2019, attending the Math Olympiad Summer Program during 2019. In addition, he has conducted research with both the Honors Summer Math Camp at Texas State University and the MIT PRIMES-USA program. In his free time, he enjoys playing both the cello and Tetris.

KEVIN CHANG

Kevin is an incoming freshmen at Caltech. Since middle school, he has been doing competition math and is a USAPhO gold medalist as well as a USACO Platinum qualifier. He has done research on hydraulic fracturing and predicting crack propagation, and he has done several smaller projects in ecology and is currently learning epidemiology. In his free time, he enjoys reading books, playing piano, and sleeping.

LUKE ROBITAILLE

Luke Robitaille is a homeschooled rising high school junior in Euless, Texas. He is an IMO gold medalist, a USAMO winner, and an RMM silver medalist; he attended MOP in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. He is the only person to win National MATHCOUNTS twice; he also has won HMMT February twice, ARML once, PUMaC once, and the Who Wants to be a Mathematician championship twice. He is the co-director of the Mid-Cities Math Circle, and has been the director of the Online Math Open. He also enjoys crossword puzzles, singing in church choir, and playing chess, among other things.

NAVEEN MUKKATT

Naveen is a rising senior at Dulles High School. He qualified for USA(J)MO and attained USACO Gold in tenth grade and competed in MATHCOUNTS State all three years at Quail Valley. However, the achievement he is most proud of is captaining the Quail Valley team to a third place finish at National Science Bowl in 2017 and bringing Dulles to a second place finish in 2019. He enjoys scrimmaging other teams in Science Bowl, studying the intricacies of machine learning, studying astronomy, and competing in Countdown against Andrew. To unwind, he likes playing League of Legends and Geometry Dash.

WILL SUN

Will is an incoming senior at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science in Denton, Texas. He really enjoys competition math and is a 2x USAJMO qualifier as well as placing 7th at Mathcounts State and qualifying for USACO Platinum. In his free time, Will likes to play ultimate frisbee, read, and relax with his friends.
