The Number Sense Test is a ten minute test comprised of 80 problems. The use of pens are ONLY allowed on the test (no pencils). No calculators are allowed on the test!
This is usually the first test we take at all competitions.
The purpose of the Number Sense Test is to assess your ability to solve problems mentally and accurately covering basic math, conversions, calculus, etc.
This means no scratch-work or working problems on the paper. Only answers are allowed. All problems with any excessive marks or scratch-work will result in the problems being marked incorrect even if you had the correct answer.
Skipping problems will also result in a lose of points -always start with question 1 on the front page!
Each correct question is worth 5 points and 4 point deductions for every wrong answer. Remember to write legibly! Graders will mark your answer wrong if they cannot read your handwriting.
