The EQUALS Global Partnership for Gender Equality in the Digital Age is pleased to announce that the nominations period for the 2020 EQUALS in Tech Awards is now open. Apply for your own organization’s gender and tech initiative and/or please share this opportunity for global recognition with those in your networks.

The EQUALS in Tech Awards have been presented since 2013 (they began as the GEM-Tech Awards), making this the 7th annual global celebration of groundbreaking work in digital access, skills, leadership and research. It is more important than ever to help boost the successes and stories of programmes and people around the world helping women and girls gain the full benefits of digital equality.

The award nomination period runs from 9 June – 1 August 2020. Nominations are welcome from/of people and organizations of all kinds, big or small, from across the world. Awards are given in five categories:

• Access

• Skills

• Leadership in Tech

• Leadership in SME

• Research

In August, a group of finalists will be identified by the judging panel and those finalists will be promoted widely. The winners in each category will be announced in the third quarter of 2020 at a venue to be determined. The finalists and winners gain access to a powerful network of EQUALS allies, former winners and community members, all working toward the same goal: gender digital equality. Past winners have shared that winning the award gave their work a big boost and helped them make new contacts, gain more visibility, access new resources etc.
