We invite contributing speakers to give presentations at the conference, in addition to the four keynotes. The presentations can be on any topic relating to the philosophy of mathematics or logic. We welcome especially presentations tied to current research, dissertations, or master’s theses done in Finland.

Who can give a presentation: Researchers, PhD students and undergraduate students.

· philosophical interpretations of mathematical theories

· the nature of mathematical objects or theories

· foundations of mathematics

· philosophical questions concerning set theory

· the nature of mathematical truth, knowledge and understanding

· applicability of mathematics and mathematical explanations

· methodology of mathematics and justification (of axioms) in mathematics or logic

· mathematical and logical consequence

· alternative logics and the question of the right logic in mathematics

· higher-order logics and categoricity

· paradoxes, critical results or thought experiments

· what philosophy of mathematics is or ought to be

More technical presentations are also welcome, if they for example present philosophically relevant results, clarify concepts, arguments or positions relating to the philosophy of mathematics or are otherwise beneficial to understanding the philosophy of mathematics or logic.

Length of the presentation: time allotted for contributing presentations is 30 min including discussion.

Language: presentations can be given in English or Finnish.

Abstract: If you wish to give a presentation, please send an abstract of 200-500 words to the e‑mail address mat.fil.suomessakonferenssi2021@gmail.com by 6.4.2021 at the latest. We do not request entire papers from speakers. You can submit the abstract as a Word- or PDF-file. Please include a LaTeX-source, if you have one. The abstract can be written in English or in Finnish. Please indicate in your message whether you wish to give the presentation in English or in Finnish.

We wish to include all suitable presentations in the program, but if necessary, the organizing committee will select the contributing presentations by blind review of the submitted abstracts. We will notify you about acceptance by 25.4.2021.

Financial support: Unfortunately, we are not able to offer compensation for travel and accommodation costs for contributing speakers.
