Literacy tests were made a requirement to vote. This made it more difficult for black citizens to vote which was the goal of the South in the first place.

Made it so that you had to pay a toll to vote, preventing the poor from being able to vote.

Made it so that people who were qualified to vote gave their ancestors the qualification to vote without having to pass a literary test or pay a poll tax. This was not given to poor blacks though.
