(Last update: 12/11/2025)
The beginning of Trimester 8 (T8) is the start of M2 students' internship at a research lab or a R&D department in industry.
For M1 students who want to do an internship (optional), please contact Ouriel Grynszpan for approval. M1 students also need to prepare the "Formulaire de proposition de stage" and "Internship Agreement". The sections 2. Request Validation Form and 5. Evaluation do not apply to M1 internships. The academic referent should be Ouriel Grynszpan.
All the internship proposals (at LISN and beyond) and all the important information can be found at: link 📂 (to be updated)
We will update the internship proposals and other administrative documents in this folder from now on, so keep an eye on it.
For M2 students:
The internship coordinator is Ouriel Grynszpan. Feel free to contact him if you have any questions after you check out the information from the above link.
The administrative contact who manages all the paperwork is Ms. Eva Perin.
Earliest start date: 02/03/2026 - Latest end date: 30/09/2026.
A M2 internship lasts from minimum of 4 to maximum of 6 months.
Two main papers to fill in: Formulaire de Proposition de Stage + Convention de Stage (Internship agreement). See below for more information. Note: It is illegal to start an internship without an internship agreement signed by all the parties involved.
All the paperwork needs to be done following the order below. Please read well the instruction before you send any email for questions.
The average time it takes to finish the internship agreement varies from 1 to 2 months. Please bear that in mind when you define the start date of your internship with the laboratory/company.
The students who want to do an internship at LISN will have to go through an ASSAV process for background check, which will take at least 2 months. This can be done in parallel to the internship agreement process.
Master Thesis templates (MS Word, RTF and LaTeX) are available HERE. The thesis is due on the 21/08/2026 before mid-night.
The thesis defense schedule is planned on the week of the 14/09/2026 (onsite at LISN).
For M2 students only
When you have found a suitable internship, you need to submit its description for a validation, by using our request validation form.
You can then check the status of the validation of our internship and get to know your Academic Referent on this spreadsheet.
Once you fill in the form and get to know who is your academic referent, don't hesitate to send them an email to let them know that you submit your proposal and ask for their approval.
Some requirements for the topic of the internship for validation:
Research-oriented internship
Related to HCI (topics, supervisors, labs or companies)
Relevant research question(s)
Linked to the state-of-the-art
Professionally-oriented internship
Related to HCI (topics, supervisors, labs or companies)
Design and evaluation (not just implementation)
Innovative topic
Linked to the state-of-the-art
Attention: Academic referent (and academic tutor for profesionnally-oriented internships) from Paris-Saclay are not your supervisor.
You will need some information that ONLY your company / laboratory can provide you with. We strongly advise you to use the TEMPLATE BELOW (only in French), and ask Human Resources from your company / laboratory to fill it in or to help you to complete it. All the fields have to be completed and signed before you send it to us (Enseignant référent) for the signature. You can add "RdV tél" in the "Modalités de suivi du stage" field.
TEMPLATE to download HERE (in FRENCH).
Here is another version with translation in English that you cannot fill in digitally but it can help you to understand what it is about.
One you have your "Formulaire de Proposition de Stage" signed by the hosting laboratory / company and the academic referent and validated by Eva Perin, it's time for the official "Convention de Stage" / "Internship Agreement". The information from "Formulaire de Proposition de Stage" will help you fill in the "Internship Agreement".
Due to the cyberattack, the PStage is not working and we will use the PDF form for the internship agreement. Please go on PSTAGE link (and use your Université Paris-Saclay account to log in). PSTAGE is in French, but at the end you'll have the opportunity to print your internship agreement in French OR English. Remark: PSTAGE will let you print your Internship agreement only when you have filled in all the required information. It does not allow you to save a draft and come back to it later. Meaning, you should have all the required information when you start it.
The PDF form for the internship agreement is below (French version). An explanatory note and an English version can be downloaded from:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Bn2REbar-74TEfmUHPrsmDQOxtq3zGu0?usp=sharing
You can use a PDF Reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader to fill in the boxes of the form.
Once the Internship Agreement is filled in, send it by email to Eva Perin to check and validate all the information before you proceed with the signatures in the following order: you, your direct supervisor, your academic referent, and the hosting laboratory/company. Eva Perin will take care of the last signature from Université Paris-Saclay.
Send by mail to Eva Perin:
Internship agreement ALREADY signed by the company/lab (HR), your supervisor from your company/lab, your academic referent and yourself,
A copy of your student ID,
A copy of your “assurance responsabilité civile” (liability insurance for foreign students: usually when renting an apartment in France you have to subscribe to one. you can use that one),
Once you start your internship (around April/May), we will assign an academic tutor to you. You can contact your academic tutor at any time if you have any problem during your internship. Usually, the academic tutor has a videoconferencing meeting with you and your supervisor near the middle of the internship.
The goal of this meeting is to check that everything is fine for you and that you are going in the good direction.
Consequently, YOU have to contact your academic tutor to plan this meeting.
You can do this meeting as soon as you think it is appropriate according to the progress of your internship.
The font size should be at least 11pt or 12pt. Templates (MS Word, RTF and LaTeX) are available HERE.
You must upload your report in pdf format (and a video to illustrate your work if necessary) on the ecampus course "M2 HCI (Human computer Interaction) copie 3" in section "Internship". The name of the file should respect the following format: SURNAME_FirstName_Master_Thesis_25-26.pdf
The thesis is due on the 21/08/2026 before mid-midnight. The pdf file size should be limited to 20 MB maximum.
The internship report must be written in English and is maximum 20-page long of the main content (and 40 pages maximum when references and annexes are included).
The thesis is recommended to include the following elements but it can be structured differently in chapters due to the actual content of your work:
Introduction
Context and Related Works
Design and Implementation: research question(s) or problem, methodology, system design and implementation
User Study / Evaluation
Conclusion and Future Works
References
Annexes (optional)
A reminder about plagiarism: when writing your report remember the rules about copying and citing. Coping the language or ideas of someone else is plagiarism and is considered academic fraud. So make sure you do not copy parts of articles, presentations, etc. When presenting others' work, do so in your own words and cite/refer them properly. If unsure, check with your supervisor. It's ok to use exact quotes in quotation marks, but do so sparingly in your report:
"Summarize, synthesize, paraphrase and DON'T PLAGIARISE !!!" [Mackay, 2014]
Regarding the use of AI, please see the "Academic regulations for Master’s degrees at Université Paris-Saclay". Below is an extract of this document:
"Plagiarism is the reproduction, in whole or in part, of the work of others, for instance, of another student, without identifying them as a source, in a document or other piece of work which is subject to assessment. The use of ChatGPT or any other tool using AI (Artificial Intelligence) must be explicitly mentioned (when it is not forbidden), like any quotation from an external source. Failure to mention AI as a source will be penalised.
Plagiarism engages the criminal responsibility of its author, who is punishable by the sanctions defined in the Intellectual Property Code.
In the context of examinations, plagiarism is considered to be fraud and could be sanctioned as such following the disciplinary procedure.
Any fraud shall be subject to the dispositions of articles R712-9 to R712-45 of the Education Code and articles 22 and 40 to 44 of decree n°92.657 of July 13, 1992, relating to disciplinary procedure in higher education institutions placed under the supervision of the Minister of Higher Education."
You have to ask your internship supervisor(s) at the laboratory or company to fill in the internship evaluation form. Your supervisor(s) should send it to Ouriel Grynszpan (ouriel.grynszpan@universite-paris-saclay.fr) before the 21/08/2026. The name of the PDF file should respect the following format: STUDENT-SURNAME_Student-FirstName_M2-Evaluation_24-25.pdf
