Requirements:
Applicants should have a Bachelor in Computer Sciences. We do however accept students coming from a background other than Computer Sciences, but in a limited number and only if their academic achievement is really excellent.
To apply directly for M2 (2nd year), students need to have completed the M1 HCI at Université Paris-Saclay, or an equivalent M1 curriculum. Specifically, the latter should include fundamental notions of human-computer interaction, interactive systems programming, virtual or augmented reality, user-centered design and interactive systems evaluation methods.
Application dates:
Applications for year 2025/26 are closed. We do not have the dates of the application period for year 2026/27 yet. They usually start in February or March.
Procedure:
Applications are performed online.
For non-EU applicants, you should not try applying through 'Etudes en France', but direclty from the university's website: https://www.universite-paris-saclay.fr/en/education/master/computer-science/m1-human-computer-interaction . Follow the instructions by selecting "I would like to apply for a Master's Year 1 (M1)" or "... Year 2 (M2)" depending on your choice. You will be eventually directed to the INCEPTION platform (inception.universite-paris-saclay.fr).
Applicants from France and countries in the EU should apply through the "Mon Master" platform (www.monmaster.gouv.fr) and not directly from the university's website (information on the university's website might not be up to date on this matter).
You will be asked for a CV (in English), a motivation letter (in English), transcripts of your grades and a proof of English level (TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS). Regarding the proof of English level, if you graduated from an institution where instruction is in English, an official document from this institution can be used instead of an English test.
When filling in your online application, you may be asked for details about your 'Baccalauréat'. This is the exam marking the end of high school in France. It does not mean Bachelor degree. You should enter details regarding any equivalent exam taken at the end of high school to enter university if such entry exam exists in the country you graduated from.
For those applying on INCEPTION, you will also be asked for a selection/choice sheet, which can be found at the very bottom of the following page (if you are unable to download it with your usual browser, try with firefox):
https://www.universite-paris-saclay.fr/en/education/master/computer-science/m1-human-computer-interaction#modalites
For any technical issues with the INCEPTION platform, please contact support.candidatures@universite-paris-saclay.fr

There are scholarships for excellent students who applied and were accepted. Decision to let such students apply to those scholarships is based on information provided during application after acceptance.
