Date: August 23 (Sun) – 24 (Mon), 2026
Venue: Kuramae Kaikan, Royal Blue Hall, Institute of Science Tokyo (Tokyo)
The masQuot Workshop 2026, bringing together collaborators of our project, was held at the Royal Blue Hall, Kuramae Kaikan, Institute of Science Tokyo.
All 11 participating institutions delivered progress reports on the project, and three Early Career Researcher (ECR) presentations were also given, reaffirming that both research progress and researcher development are advancing well. The poster session attracted 30 submissions, with participants gathering around each poster for lively and in-depth discussions on the latest research. It was a vibrant occasion for sharing the cutting edge of the field.
Following the poster session, a lab tour of three laboratories in the Kodera group was conducted, giving attendees a deeper understanding of the latest research facilities and ongoing experiments. Afterward, a Networking Dinner was held, where participants connected across research areas and engaged in animated conversation in a warm and collegial atmosphere.
Venue: RIKEN (Wako-shi, Saitama)
The following day, InQuot2026 was held at RIKEN in Wako, Saitama. Co-organized by the ASPIRE Project (Kodera group), the CREST Project (Oiwa group), and RIKEN, the workshop brought together quantum dot researchers from Japan and abroad.
We were honored to welcome Dr. Hiroyuki Mizuno from Hitachi, Ltd. and Dr. Nico Hendrickx from Groove Quantum as invited speakers. They shared cutting-edge research on quantum computing with quantum dots, and offered invaluable perspectives on the importance of cultivating the next generation of quantum researchers and their hopes for the field going forward.
Researchers from all 15 participating institutions of the ASPIRE Project (Kodera group) and the CREST Project (Oiwa group) presented updates on their research progress. In addition, early-career researchers delivered presentations on their work, offering an impressive showcase of the next generation of talent.
In the lab tour of RIKEN's research facilities, participants split into two groups to visit the laboratories of the Tarucha group and the Kawakami group / Nakamura group, gaining firsthand exposure to state-of-the-art research environments.
Including submissions from the previous day, the poster session received a total of 48 entries, reflecting the breadth and quality of research across the projects. The following awards were presented to outstanding presenters:
