I am an experimental Condensed Matter Physicist delighted by the physics in nano/micro scale. I am passionate to learn about the fundamental science in smaller scales and find a bridge to applications that can change the face of science, health and technology.

My research focuses on exploring the dynamics of charge carriers in bare, hybrid organic and plasmonic nano-structures. I study crystalline structures with typical dimensions of few tens of nano-meters since their unique optical and transport properties have recently enabled many novel device applications.

I am interested in investigating different types of II-VI and III-V semiconductor nanowires, quantum dots and nanopowders. Together with our research collaborators, we use various deposition technique (such as organic molecular beam deposition, spin coating, deep coating, and etc.) to engineer and fabricate nano-structures. Then we take advantage of various optical and microscope methods including TEM, SEM, AFM, time resolved/integrated PL, FWM, absorption, reflectance and etc. for characterization.

Our research, with the current promising results, will create an in-depth understanding of plasmonic heterostructures which will likely have a strong impact on the design of low-loss plasmonic waveguides and metamaterials as well as next generation energy storage devices.
