2. The primary responsibility of the lifeguards is to ensure the safety of everyone using the pool. Therefore, the lifeguards at any time may require any person, child or adult, member or guest, to leave the pool if in the judgment of the lifeguard the person poses any safety threat to himself or herself or to others in the pool.
3. If unsupervised minors and their guests are not following pool rules, exhibiting unruly behavior, or causing danger to themselves or others, anywhere within the pool’s property, it is the Lifeguard’s responsibility to (1) address the behavior with the minor and (2) address the situations with the responsible member adult to require them to supervise the minors, or remove them from the property.

The basic deep end test consists of swimming two lengths of the pool (150 feet) using any standard stroke, then treading water for three minutes.
6. If a child has not passed the deep end test, but wants to swim in the deep end, a parent or person responsible for the child must be in the water with the child, not observing from the pool deck. It is the lifeguards’ responsibility to remind adults of this rule, if necessary.
7. All persons using the pool do so at their own risk. PBPC assumes no responsibility for accident or injury. Parents are responsible for the safety of their children.
8. Adult members agree that they are aware of the risks and hazards inherent in leaving a minor unaccompanied at the pool, and that they are legally responsible for their minor children, and their minor guests, when leaving them unsupervised by an adult member at the Mason Street Pool.
9. No stone throwing, dunking, running, pushing, wrestling, or causing undue disturbance in or about the pool area.
