Help with MasalaMetrics — scanning, targets, Apple Health and your account.

Open the Food tab, point the camera at your plate and take the photo. You'll get a breakdown of what the app thinks it sees, with calories and macros for each item. Check it, adjust the portion if it's wrong, then save.
Edit the result before saving — you can change the item and the portion. A few things that noticeably improve accuracy:
Shoot from above, with the whole plate in frame
Good light, and avoid a strong shadow across the food
For a thali, one photo of the full plate works better than separate photos of each bowl
Ghee, oil and cream are invisible in a photo — if a dish was made rich, nudge the fat figure up
If a dish is consistently read wrong, email it to us with the photo. We use those reports to improve recognition, and regional dishes are exactly what we want to hear about.
Yes. Every meal can be entered and edited by hand, so the app works fine if you'd rather not use the camera at all.
From your age, gender, height, weight and activity level, using standard nutrition formulas. It's an estimate for a typical person matching that description, not a personalised medical recommendation.
Check the values in Settings first — a height entered in inches instead of centimetres is the usual cause. If the numbers are right and the target still looks off, your activity level may not match reality; most people overestimate it.
MasalaMetrics is a general wellness tool, not a medical device. If you have diabetes, kidney or heart disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a history of disordered eating, talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before acting on anything the app tells you.
Open the Health app
Go to the Sharing tab, then Apps & Services
Tap MasalaMetrics
Turn on the categories it asks for
Health permissions are granted per category, so it's common to have some on and others off. If MasalaMetrics isn't listed at all, the permission prompt was dismissed — delete and reinstall the app to see it again.
No. Data read from Apple Health is used on your device only. It is never uploaded to our servers, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising. The same applies to your age, gender, height, weight and activity level, which never leave your iPhone.
So your meal history survives a lost or replaced phone. Meals are stored under your account and readable only by you.
Check you're using the same method you signed up with — an account created with Sign in with Apple can't be accessed with Google, even on the same email address. If you used Hide My Email, the address on file is Apple's relay address, not your personal one.
Settings tab, then Delete Account. This permanently removes your meal history and your account, and clears the profile stored on your device. It can't be undone and we can't recover it afterwards.
Email 5000prashant@gmail.com from the address on your account and we'll send it within 30 days.
Before emailing, try force-quitting the app and reopening it, and check you're on the latest version in the App Store. If it persists, send us:
